Maintenance Supervisor

Our client is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor.

PLEASE NOTE: Must have at least 2 years of experience with industrial electrical systems and PLCs.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor will be accountable for keeping the production output optimized and maintaining seamless functioning of all equipment and machinery. Must have effective administration skills as well as organizational capabilities and lead a team of maintenance technicians for conducting maintenance activities. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians to improve skills and knowledge of mechanical principles and translate those skills and knowledge to improve production outputs. Must be self-driven with effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Will be effective at collaborating with associates and leaders at all levels and must have excellent influencing skills.

Responsibilities:

• Reports to the Engineering Manager
• Must ensure the production of a safe, high-quality product
• Fill in for Maintenance/Engineering Manager in his absence
• Responsible for communication with Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Technicians, and Production Department on repairs, scheduling of downtime, and acquiring Production Department input
• Assists mechanics at any given time to assure all daily tasks are carried out
• Assists mechanics in their reporting duties such as log entry data follow-up to ensure that the mechanics have logged problems, repairs, and parts usage
• Responsible for basic office duties such as parts ordering, work scheduling, payroll accounting, PM scheduling, and receiving records
• Responsible for setting up and operating the PM program, updating the program, and making adjustments to the schedule
• Touring the plant to view the condition of the equipment and assigning any necessary repairs
• View maintenance logs and follow up with any open issues from previous shifts
• Look over work orders from previous shifts and follow up to ensure that the work was completed
• Schedule workloads for the shifts including scheduled repairs and PMs
• Reports daily to the Maintenance Manager on the activities of the Maintenance crew and equipment status
• Will be training side by side with the Maintenance/Engineering Manager to be a replacement in 3-5 years
• Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent education
• Five (5) years of mechanical experience or equivalent training
• Must have 3-5 years as a Lead or Supervisor in a Maintenance department
• Ability to work with minimal supervision within a team environment
• Must have good practical sense working with and troubleshooting equipment problems
• Must be a team player
• Must have good communication skills
• Must be a leader in team spirit
• Must be able to set good examples for others to follow
• Must be a self-starter and have the ability to detect and troubleshoot problems and carry out the proper repairs
• Must possess knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electricity, industrial refrigeration, the baking process, sanitation, and quality control
• Must possess a basic understanding of fabrication skills such as welding, cutting, grinding, and machine work
• Must follow all GMPs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a food packaging or manufacturing environment

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 2 years of experience in an industrial maintenance leadership role (Lead or Supervisor)
• 2 years of experience conducting preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
