Senior Plant Quality Manager

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for managing overall food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance within the plant. The role involves overseeing quality programs, implementing best practices, conducting audits, and ensuring that the plant meets all internal and external quality standards. Strong leadership and technical expertise are required to maintain a high level of product quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and manage the company's quality policies and promote best practices across the organization.
• Develop, maintain, and improve quality management systems (HACCP, FSSC22000).
• Assess food safety and quality risks and recommend mitigation strategies in collaboration with production, sanitation, and plant R&D teams.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSPs).
• Conduct root cause analysis for food safety and quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain appropriate records to support food safety programs and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Ensure proper performance and quality standards from service providers such as pest control, uniforms, and laundry services.
• Oversee the plant's environmental control program, including proper sampling procedures and record maintenance.
• Review and maintain product specifications in collaboration with the Production Manager.
• Lead internal audits, ensure the plant is audit-ready, and manage corrective actions post-audit.
• Partner with the Lab Manager to oversee lab testing, equipment calibration, and coordination with external laboratories.
• Manage a team of quality staff, providing training, mentorship, and performance feedback.
• Work cross-functionally with Corporate Quality to develop and track plant KPIs and scorecards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, with a focus on quality and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, HACCP, and FSSC22000 standards.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and driving performance improvements.
• Ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Experience working with regulatory agencies and managing audits.
